Shannon is currently working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist and Approved Clinical Supervisor.
Shannon has a passion for working with teens (ages 12+) and adults who are facing big life changes, relationship issues, and low self-esteem, as well as more specific challenges such as addiction, substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, suicidal ideation, and more.
Shannon takes a person-centered approach, while also utilizing Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectic Behavioral therapeutic techniques, among many others.
Shannon believes that our unique experiences contribute significantly to who we are and how we learned to behave and process emotions and situations. Providing a comfortable, nonjudgemental space where her clients can feel seen, understood, accepted, and supported is Shannons primary goal.
Shannon has a lot of experience working with individuals with addiction, substance use, and crisis. Shannon believes in the healing power of human connection and community, and that we all have many strengths but sometimes we just need help remembering. Some additional approaches that Shannon likes to use are Strength-Based and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
